About the game
Mole Meadow is a cozy logic puzzle set in a moonlit garden. Sleepy moles hide under some of the grass patches. Dig a patch and it shows a number: how many of its eight neighbors hide a mole. Use those clues to dig every safe patch without waking anyone.
Plant a carrot wherever you are sure a mole is snoozing. Basil, the gardener cat, watches from the top of the screen and reacts to every dig. Wake a mole and it pops up, grumpy, in its little nightcap. Clear the whole field and the meadow bursts into flowers while the moles munch their carrots.
Pick Sprout for a quick warm-up, Garden for a proper puzzle, or Field for a long challenge. You can also build your own custom field. It plays with a mouse, a keyboard or a touch screen, with no account and no download.
How to play
- Press Play and pick a field: Sprout, Garden, Field or Custom.
- Dig any patch to start. Your first dig is always safe and opens part of the meadow.
- Each number tells you how many of the 8 patches around it hide a mole.
- Plant a carrot on a patch you are sure hides a mole: right-click, press F, long-press, or use the Carrot tool.
- Click or tap a number that already has enough carrots around it to dig all its other neighbors.
- Dig every mole-free patch to make the meadow bloom, then try to beat your best time.

Tips
- A 1 that touches only one grass patch means that patch hides a mole. Plant a carrot on it.
- Once a number has all its carrots, tap it to dig every other patch around it at once.
- Work along the edge of the open soil, where the numbers give you the most clues.
- On a phone, pinch out to see the whole field, then pinch back in to dig with big patches.
- The game pauses itself when you switch tabs, so the timer never runs while you are away.
Questions
Is Mole Meadow free?
Yes. It's free to play in your browser, with no account and no download.
Does it work on phones and tablets?
Yes. Tap to dig, and long-press or use the Carrot tool to plant a carrot. Big fields turn to fit your screen, and you can pinch to zoom and drag to look around.
Can my first dig wake a mole?
No. The first patch you dig and the eight patches around it never hide a mole.
Are the moles hurt?
Not at all. They are just sleepy. Dig on one and it pops up, grumpy at being woken, and the round ends. Win and they get carrots.
